ROSEVILLE CIVlL SERVICE COMMISSION <br />Meeting Minutes <br />January 16, 1998 <br />The meeting was called to order at �:05. <br />Members Present: Bob King, Jack Weidenbach <br />Members Absent: Joe Olson <br />Others Presen#: Paul Wood, Police Chief, Tom Alleva, Deputy Chief, Carolyn <br />Ganz, Administrative Analyst, and Karen Kurt, Human <br />Resources Director. <br />New Business <br />Deputy Chief Alle�a distributed the minutes from the meeting hefd December 15, <br />1997. <br />Motion: King moved to accept the minutes without change. Weidenbach <br />seconded the motion. Motion passed unanimously. <br />Chief Wood reviewed t�e process for the testing of police officer candidates in <br />the spring of 1998. The onfy change in the process is the use of a new written <br />test vendor. The new written test wiil ask candidates to answer multiple choice <br />questions during a series of videotaped scenarios. The written tesf wilf receive <br />the same weight during the selection process_ <br />Chief Wood also distributed the anticipated scheduie for the hiring process. The <br />schedule included two civil service meeting da#es (February 26 and April 16). <br />Motion: King moved to accept tF�e process as outlined, with the proposed change <br />for the written test segment. Weidenbach seconded. Motion passed <br />unanimously. <br />NOTE: State statute requires that the Civil Service Commission meet the <br />first Monday in February. Accordingly, a meeting has been scheduled for <br />Monday, February 2, 1998 at 5:OOpm. <br />Adiournment <br />Motion: King moved to adjourn the meeting at 5:25. Weidenbach seconded <br />Motion passed unanimously. <br />
