MINUTES <br />ROSEVILLE POLICE CIVIL SERVICE CUMMISSION <br />FEBRUARY 27� 1995 <br />Th� meeting was called to order by Bob King. <br />Members Present: B�b King and Jack Weidenbach <br />Others Present: Chief Zelinsky, Deputy Chief A�leva; Officers <br />PDI Representative Arvids Petersons and <br />Officer Loren Rosand. <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Minutes of February 13, 1995 were approved. All ayes. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />1. There was a lengthy discussion on weight and structure of <br />Promotability Index portion af the testing pracess. There was <br />concern that personal feelings and lack of knowledge about <br />some candidates by peers and supervisors would unduly impact <br />scoring. The process was considered helpful and valid,but <br />members felt the weight should be reduced. <br />The final percentages for portions of the test process were <br />established as: Police Career Index 15�; In Basket (written) <br />25%; �ral Interview 25%; Rale Playing 25a; Promotability Index <br />100, with 5% by peers and 5% by supervisor. <br />2. The Commission looked at dates for testing process. It was <br />determined that P.D.I. would give an orzentation for <br />prospective candidat�s the week of March 6, 1995. Officers <br />would submit their intention to take the Sergeant's Test to <br />the Civil Service Commission through Chief Zelinsky by March <br />24, 1995. Testing would stari April 10 and hopefully be <br />completed by April 12.
