Public Works
Engineering and Construction
Major Findings
• Roseille's engineering s#aff could absorb much of #he general engineering wocload which
is being contracted out by Falcon Heights.
- Falcon Heights estimates these costs at about $9,000 per year.
From 1992 to 1994, Falcon Heights estimates that engineering costs for their Street
Improvement Program will be about $34,000 per year. Roseville believes that this work
could be combined with their own improvement program without adding additionai
employees.
• Roseville's construction engineering demands will diminish after the next 3 years as
Phase I of the Pavement Management Program is completed.
Falcon Heights' road construction plans could be merged with Roseville's
pavement management program to maximize utilization of current engineering
staff and potentially reduce some con#racted engineering costs.
Because of professional liability issues, Roseville would not provide engineering to Falcon
Heights on a contractual basis.
43
ROS-04i7 - 3430 - Working Dralt
