Fire Department Major Findings
• A onetime cost of approximately $1,000 would accrue as a result of combined
dispatching (i.e., converting radios to one frequency).
- Dispatching services for the two departments are different.
.. Falcon Heights depends on Ramsey County for all fire dispatching.
.. Roseville's fire depa#ment has an internal dispatching system
(approximately $18,000 annual cost which allows them to have the
same dispatcher avaiable during the entire fire call}. '
- A merger would require a change to one dispa#ching system.
.. A one time cost would be incurred to convert all radios and scanners to
the same frequency.
.. If the new department used the Ramsey County system, $18,004 in
annual savings could be achieved.
ROS-o4 i 7- 343a - Workirg Draft
ss
