He suggested the Roseville police <br />458 officer at Roseville High School work with special ed families further to address some of the <br />459 concerns brought up this evening. <br />460 <br />461 City Manager Bill Malinen appreciated all those present for providing comments and for <br />462 discussing this issue further. He stated that while viewpoints may not closely align, the <br />463 discussion could create greater clarity on the event. He encouraged parents to educate their <br />464 children on how to handle replica guns. He proposed an article on this topic to inform parents on <br />465 the seriousness of this issue. City <br />Manager Malinen stated a claim could be made by the homeowner. <br />Ms. Moen thanked staff for ��s their comments. She questioned if the Fire Department was <br />making a bay available for SWAT. City Manager Malinen said currently, SWAT equipment was <br />stored at Fire Station 2. <br />Ms. Moen asked if the City was large enough that it required a SWAT team. Police Chief <br />Mathwig said the SWAT truck was a regional asset funded by federal grants. This asset served <br />the region, not just the City of Roseville. <br />478 Chair Grefenberg also thanked all for participating in the conversation this evening. He <br />479 encouraged the neighbors to continue working with the police department and the HRC on their <br />48o concerns. He thought it would be helpful for a future meeting between the police department <br />481 and the neighborhood to improve community relations. He stated this was the beginning of the <br />482 discussion on this issue and he believed the City would continue to worlc through these issues. <br />483 He thanked Police Chief Mathwig for attending this evening, and for addressing the concerns of <br />484 the public and far continuing the dialogue. <br />485 <br />486 The Commission took a brief recess. <br />487 <br />488 Review of Civic Engagement Task Force Report: Chair Grefenberg moved and Commissioner <br />489 Doneen seconded a motion to pass a resolution thanking the Civic Engagement Task Force for <br />490 their work, expressing the HRC's appreciation, and forwarding the Task Force's Report to the <br />491 City Council for its consideration. <br />492 <br />493 <br />494 <br />495 <br />496 <br />497 <br />498 <br />499 <br />500 <br />501 <br />so2 <br />Commissioner Thao questioned if a time had been-set for celebrating and recognizing the work <br />of the Task Force.
