REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION Date: 11/19/12 Item No.: 7.j Department Approval City Manager Approval Item Description: Approve a Resolution for the Final Acceptance and Maintenance for Public Improvements Constructed for SIENNA GREEN Page 1 of 1 B ACKGROUND 1 On November 9, 2009, the City Council approved a public improvement contract for Aeon and 2 the Har Mar Apartments, 2225 to 2265 Snelling Avenue. The contract covered the public 3 improvements included in the SIENNA GREEN plat. These improvements included the 4 construction of a public sidewalk along the frontage road and a public water main extension. 5 This improvement was completed in 2011. 6 The City worked with their Engineer during construction to ensure the improvements were 7 installed according to approved plans and City specifications. 8 P OLICY O BJECTIVE 9 The City Policy requires the following steps be completed to finalize the construction project: 10 11  Certification from the civil engineer in charge of the project verifying that all work has been 12 completed in accordance with the approved plans and specifications. 13  A resolution by the City Council accepting the project and beginning the two-year warranty 14 period. 15 F INANCIAL I MPACTS 16 Since this was a developer initiated project, the City did not contribute to the cost to construct 17 these public improvements. 18 S TAFF R ECOMMENDATION 19 All necessary items have been completed in accordance with project plans and specifications. 20 Since all items have been completed as outlined in the policy regarding final project acceptance, 21 staff recommends the City Council approve a resolution accepting the public improvements. 22 R EQUESTED C OUNCIL A CTION 23 Approve a Resolution Accepting the Public Improvements Constructed for Sienna Green. 24 Prepared by: Debra Bloom, City Engineer Attachments: A: Resolution
