104 Public Works, Environment and Trails Commissioners working with staff to review projects, <br /> 105 recommend opportunities and represent mutual commissions. <br /> 106 • The first subcommittee meeting took place recently with Jeff Evenson and Deb Bloom <br /> 107 present. The meeting was organizational and updated those attending on recent work and <br /> 108 upcoming projects. <br /> 109 • Evenson presented a Natural Resource project scheduled for Reservoir Woods that will <br /> 110 combine volunteer workers and a citizen donation to remove Buckthorn in a single <br /> 111 identified area in Reservoir Woods. <br /> 112 • Doneen hopes that this subcommittee will be able to create a team of volunteers that will <br /> 113 continue to work on community Natural Resource projects throughout the Renewal <br /> 114 Program and beyond. <br /> 115 • Initial efforts are focusing on Buckthorn Removal as this issue has been identified in the <br /> 116 Natural Resource Master Plan, is a good area to get volunteers involved and trained and <br /> 117 is really needed throughout our park-system. <br /> 118 • Doneen reported the subcommittee suggested efforts be made to find additional funding <br /> 119 for the B2 pathway project; this is a large project what could become a large financial <br /> 120 burden for the Renewal Program pathway initiatives. <br /> 121 • The subcommittee will be helping to develop and implement a communication plan for <br /> 122 B2 and other trail projects as well as reviewing past planning efforts. <br /> 123 <br /> 124 7. STAFF REPORT <br /> 125 • Villa Park Project is moving forward. A community information meeting is scheduled for <br /> 126 November 5 th <br /> 127 • Community Recreation Event Updates; <br /> 128 o The October 27 Halloween Spooktacular was once again a fun and successful youth <br /> 129 activity. <br /> 130 o Peggy's Holiday Boutique begins November 3 at the Skating Center and continues <br /> 131 through Nov. 11 <br /> 132 o The FOR Parks Holiday Rose Home Tour is November 9 & 10 with the pre tour Gala <br /> 133 taking place in November 8. <br /> 134 o OVAL Opens November 9! <br /> 135 ■ Skating Center staff will begin making ice Monday, November 5. <br /> 136 o District 623 fundraising Walk/Run is November 10 <br /> 137 o Friends of the OVAL Gala is November 17 <br /> 138 o HANC Holiday Craft Fair is December 1 & 2 <br /> 139 • FORParks has recently replaced the fountain in Lake Bennett and purchased a number of <br /> 140 benches for placement in the Arboretum and other Roseville Parks <br /> 141 • The Central Park Foundation has begun to install way-finding signs in Central Park <br /> 142 <br /> 143 8. OTHER <br /> 144 • Ristow asked residents to continue to water trees, consider supporting organizations that are <br /> 145 helping those affected by the East Coast super-storm and VOTE. <br /> 146 • D. Holt informed the Commission of a School District committee that is reviewing the <br /> 147 Owasso School Property and will be making recommendations to the School Board on future <br /> 148 use(s) of the property. Holt encouraged the community to share ideas on how they feel the <br /> 149 property should be used.
