<br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 12/10/2012 <br /> Item No.: 7.d <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Energy Use Update <br />Page 1 of 1 <br />B ACKGROUND : 1 <br />In 2008, the City Manager formed an internal committee called REACT (Roseville Energy and 2 <br />Action Team) to investigate ways to reduce our energy consumption. The City Council received 3 <br />a report from staff in December of 2008, which outlined all City departments’ collective efforts 4 <br />to reduce energy usage. Some of those efforts include changing driving habits for increased fuel 5 <br />efficiency, turning lights off as you leave a room , using day lighting wherever possible, and to 6 <br />adjust thermostat settings year-round. Staff has provided annual updates on the City’s energy 7 <br />consumption and progress in this area. The committee met on Monday, November 19, 2012 to 8 <br />discuss current energy saving efforts.
