<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * **** <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 27th day of April, 1998 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Wi ski, Goedeke, Maschka, Mastel, and Wall, and the <br />following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Wall introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 9547 <br /> <br />Setting Date To Withdraw Retroactivity of Pension Increases Due <br />To Fire Pension Board Inaction In Meeting Fiscal Improvement <br />Measures <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The Roseville Fire Relief Association Board requested an increase in the Fire Pensions <br />on November 24, 1997 which consisted of a service pension amount of $23 payable per month for <br />each year of service or a lump sum service pension amount of $2,300 payable for each year of <br />service retroactive to January 1, 1998 and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The City Council agreed to the request upon the fulfillment of the following fiscal <br />improvement measures: <br /> <br />1. Implementation of an up-to-date Investment Policy. <br /> <br />2. Consolidate all of the Board's investments into the State Board of Investment. <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The Fire Relief Association has not implemented these improvements in a timely <br />manner as intended; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Roseville, Minnesota, <br />that the provision stating the pension increase be made retroactive to January 1, 1998 and expire on <br />May 31, 1998 absent the fulfillment of the fiscal improvement measures enumerated above. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member <br />Wiski and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Wiski, Goedeke, <br />Maschka, Mastel, and Wall, and the following voted against the same: None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
