<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br />of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 8th day of June, 1998, <br />at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Goedeke, Wiski, Mastel, Maschka, and Wall, and <br />the following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Goedeke introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9557 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT MULTI-JURISDICTIONAL <br />LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING CENTER <br /> <br />WHEREAS, well trained Peace Officers are better able to assure their own safety and the <br />safety and constitutional rights of our citizens; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, maintaining proficiency in high liability Peace Officer activities, including <br />confrontation management, use of force, and lawful searches and arrests, is a prudent <br />safeguard against expensive litigation and civil lawsuits; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, adequate training facilities for unique Peace Officer skills can be most <br />economically and efficiently provided through the cooperative efforts of several neighboring <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuing the collaborative multi-jurisdictional Law Enforcement Training <br />Center does not obligate the City of Roseville to participate in the final plan or commit <br />funds to the facility; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council directs and authorizes the <br />Chief of Police to participate with representatives from other governmental jurisdictions in <br />helping to plan, identify the costs and merits of a joint facility, and coordinate the <br />development frame work of such a facility. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br />Maschka, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Goedeke, Wiski, Mastel, Maschka, and Wall, and the following voted against the same: <br />None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
