Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday,January 07,2013 <br /> Page 16 <br /> Mayor Roe suggested that as a sensible charge for the Subcommittee moving for- <br /> ward, and a subsequent recommendation back to the City Council for ultimate ac- <br /> tion. Mayor Roe noted that the purpose of a Subcommittee was to do the leg- <br /> work; noting that another aspect of their responsibilities listed in his Memoran- <br /> dum was their quarterly review of financial reports and proposed City Manager- <br /> recommended budgets as an additional step before those documents came forward <br /> to the entire body; with their expertise in addressing the details developed <br /> throughout the process. <br /> Further discussion ensued on the interest of individual Councilmembers on serv- <br /> ing on either of the standing subcommittees, and whether to take that action at this <br /> or a subsequent meeting. <br /> Councilmembers Etten and Willmus expressed interest in serving on the City <br /> Manager Performance Review Subcommittee for 2013. <br /> McGehee moved, Laliberte seconded, designating Councilmembers Etten and <br /> Willmus to serve on the City Manager Performance Review Subcommittee for <br /> 2013. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus; Etten; McGehee; Laliberte; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> Councilmembers McGehee and Etten expressed interest in serving on the City's <br /> Finance and Budget Subcommittee for 2013. <br /> Willmus moved, Laliberte seconded Councilmembers McGehee and Etten to <br /> serve on the City's Finance and Budget Subcommittee for 2013. <br /> City Manager Malinen noted that the previous CIP Subcommittee had included <br /> the City Manager and Finance Director, and whether the City Council wished to <br /> continue their service on this newly named subcommittee. <br /> With consensus,the City Council concurred that it made sense to keep staff on the <br /> subcommittee based on their expertise. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus; Etten; McGehee; Laliberte; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> Commission Subcommittee <br /> Councilmember Laliberte suggested establishment of a subcommittee to look at <br /> the City's advisory commissions in general, noting that the City Council had al- <br /> ready received a recommendation from the Human Rights Commission to estab- <br />
