<br />EXTRACT OF MWUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br />of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly called held at the City Hall on <br />Monday, the 27th day of July, 1998 at 6:30 P.M. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Maschka, Mastel, Goedeke, Wiski, Wall <br />and the following were absent: None <br /> <br />Council Member Mastel introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9571 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION GRANTING AUTHORITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE <br />METROPOLITAN COUNCIL'S "COST OF GROWTH STUDY" <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Council has approved the Regional Growth Strategies <br />study which is intended to be the blueprint for metropolitan development into the next <br />century; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Regional Growth Strategies study will help define the way our <br />metropolitan area accommodates some 600,000 new residents in the next 20 years, the <br />patterns of redevelopment including transportation, housing and other significant <br />metropolitan issues, and, the direction of tax policy in response to development patterns <br />and service delivery costs; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in conjunction with the Regional Growth Strategies, the Metropolitan <br />Council is conducting a "Cost of Growth Study" and has offered the City of Roseville an <br />opportunity to participate; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the financial support for participation in this Study is $10,000, $5,000 <br />of which will be assumed by the 135W Corridor Coalition and the balance (of $5,000) to be <br />assumed from the City's 1998 Contingent Account; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby authorizes the <br />City Manager to enter into the "Cost of Growth Study" with the Metropolitan Council, with <br />the cost not to exceed $5,000, to be committed from the 1998 Contingent Account. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing Resolution was seconded by Council <br />Member Maschka and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Maschka, Mastel, Goedeke, Wiski, Wall <br />and the following voted against the same: None <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br /> <br />Resolution #9571 - Page 1 of 2 <br />
