<br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 02/11/13 <br /> Item No.: 12.b <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br /> <br />Item Description: Appoint Council Representa tive to the Advisory Group for the Corridor <br />Development Initiative for 2325 Da le St/Fire Station Site <br />Page 1 of 2 <br />B ACKGROUND 1 <br /> 2 <br />The RHRA closed on the purchase of 2325 Dale Street property along with 4 vacant lots on 3 <br />November 30, 2012. The RHRA has a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the City of 4 <br />Roseville regarding the transfer and redevelopment of the Dale Street Fire Station. In the MOU 5 <br />it is the obligation of the RHRA to work with the surrounding neighborhood and City Council to 6 <br />envision a preferred development for the property. 7 <br /> 8 <br />The Corridor Development Initiative (CDI) proc ess is composed of a series of community 9 <br />workshops to engage a range of stakeholders around specific development opportunity sites, and 10 <br />to articulate common values that will guide futu re development. By incorporating a financial 11 <br />analysis into the development scenarios, the pro cess takes into account mark et realities and what 12 <br />types of uses are best suited for the site. 13 <br /> 14 <br />The goal of the CDI process in Ro seville would be to explore the financial viability of various 15 <br />development scenarios at the 2325 Dale Street/Fir e Station site, and to provide recommendations 16 <br />for development objectives for the site. The pr ocess would be guided by an Advisory Group. 17 <br />The Advisory Group will define the work plan and timeline for the process, identify the technical 18 <br />supports needed, and oversee the process to assure its success. The neighborhood will be 19 <br />invited to participate in the process, workshops , and outcomes of the preferred development for 20 <br />the sites. 21 <br /> 22 <br />At this time we are assembling an Advisory Group for the CDI process. We would like 23 <br />representation of one person from the council. The first meeting for the Advisory Group is 24 <br />February 20 th at 12n at City Hall. The entire council and RHRA will be invite d to participate in 25 <br />the whole CDI process which will occur over a couple of public meetings. 26 <br /> 27 <br />B UDGET I MPLICATIONS 28 <br />There is no budget implications to the City as the RHRA has received a grant for $10,000 from 29 <br />the McKnight Foundation and the RHRA has bu dgeted for $10,000 for the CDI process. 30
