This repor t deals with the Police 2 <br />Sergeant’s unit. There are five city employees in the Teamster’s bargaining unit. They are 3 <br />comprised of supervisory licensed Officers. 4 <br /> 5 <br />Although city employee wages are provided in six di fferent plans, the City maintains a policy of 6 <br />parity for all employees. According to this phi losophy, the City strives for comparable cost of 7 <br />living adjustments and benefits for all six empl oyee groups. In addition, the City benchmarks 8 <br />itself with comparable municipalities. 9 <br /> 10 <br />Council has provided for a 2% wage increase in the 2013 budget. Based on internal equity and 11 <br />external market data for this group, the 2013 -2015 proposed and tent ative agreement terms 12 <br />between the union and the C ity are the following: 13 <br /> 14 <br />Description of Proposed Agreement: 15 <br /> 16 <br />1. CONTRACT DURATION: 17 <br /> 18 <br />Term of 3 years from 1/1/13 – 12/31/15 19 <br />2. WAGES: 20 <br /> 21 <br /> 22 <br /> 1/1/13 increase all Teamst er union classifications by a 2% COLA bringing top 23 <br />wage to $41.45 per hour, which keeps them at 100% of the market average for 24 <br />our comparable Cities. 25 <br /> 26 <br /> 1/1/14 increase all Teamst er union classifications by a 2% COLA bringing top 27 <br />wage to $42.28 per hour. 28 <br /> 29 <br /> 1/1/15 increase all Teamst er union classifications by a 2% COLA bringing top 30 <br />wage to $43.13 per hour. 31 <br /> 32 <br />3. Article XXV – HOLIDAYS : 33 <br /> Change to language only which is outdated and needs revision to be more 34 <br />reflective of current practices and schedules.
