<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, <br />County of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 24th day of August, 1998, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Wiski, Mastel, Maschka, Goedeke, and Wall, and the <br />following were absent: None. <br /> <br />Member Mastel introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9577 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR AN <br />AUTO THEFT REDUCTION GRANT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has averaged 177 auto thefts per year over the last six years; and <br />WHEREAS, vehicle thefts create immediate hardship on the victim; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, investigating motor vehicle thefts is a technical and time consuming job; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, grant money to pay for analysis and overtime costs for investigations of motor vehicle <br />theft is available from the Minnesota Auto Theft Prevention Program; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the Roseville Police <br />Department to accept a $20,000 auto theft reduction grant from the Minnesota Auto Theft <br />Prevention Program which was created by the 1996 Minnesota Legislature. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member Goedeke, <br />and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Wiski, Mastel, Maschka, <br />Goedeke, and Wall, and the following voted against the same: None. <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA) <br />) SS <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY ) <br /> <br />I, the undersigned, being the duly qualified City Manager of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, <br />State of Minnesota, do hereby certify that I have carefully compared the attached and foregoing <br />extract of minutes of a regular meeting of said City Council held on the 24th day of August, 1998, <br />with the original thereof on file in my office. <br /> <br />WITNESS MY HAND officially as such Manager this 25th day of August, 1998. <br /> <br /> <br />SEAL <br />
