Northwest Youth & Family Service <br />Program Descriptions <br /> <br /> <br />Residents from partnering m unicipalities are entitled to the following services. <br /> <br />Diversion: <br />Youth, 10 - 17, who are charged with misdemeanor and status offenses can use this program as an <br />alternative to the traditional juven ile justice system to rebuild thei r lives and get back on track. Youth <br />attend educational seminars with their parents, perform community service and pay restitution. <br /> <br />Outpatient Mental Health: <br />Our licensed mental health staff pr ovides counseling and therapy for the emotional health of children, <br />teens, and adults. NYFS also offers psychiatric services, providing medication management services <br />in tandem with outpatient mental he alth counseling. As a Rule 29 Community Mental Clinic we serve <br />individuals and families that have insurance and pr ovide services on a sliding fee schedule for those <br />who don’t have insureance. <br /> <br />Senior Chore: <br />NYFS helps older adults live inde pendently in their homes for as long as possible by connecting <br />volunteers and youth and adults in search of work with seniors in need of help. Workers assist seniors <br />with basic services such as routine housekeeping and lawn care as well as seasonal activities such as <br />snow shoveling and leaf raking. <br /> <br /> <br />Northwest Youth & Family Services offers an array of other services that residents from partnering <br />municipalities may also access.
