Section 1010.07 contains the existing language regarding temporary signs. <br />84 <br />Below, highlighted in black strikeout and red underline, are the City Planner’s <br />85 <br />suggested modifications to support a more useful temporary sin for businesses <br />86 <br />and proprietors: <br />87 <br />1010.07: Temporary and Annual Signs <br />88 <br />A.A or T-frame signs, sandwich, curb signs, fabricated and/or manufactured <br />89 <br />signs on stands or posts: The Community Development Department may <br />90 <br />issue a Temporary Sign Permit or an Annual Sign Permit for temporary and/or <br />91 <br />semi-permanent signs in commercial, employment, and institutional districts, <br />92 <br />including grand opening signs, and special event signage, subject to the <br />93 <br />following requirements: <br />94 <br />1.The Community Development Department may issue a Temporary Sign <br />95 <br />Permit for temporary signs in commercial, employment, and institutional <br />96 <br />districts, including grand opening signs, and special event signage. <br />97 <br />Temporary and Annual signs shall be comprised/constructed of durable <br />98 <br />all-weather materials (such as but not limited to plywood, coreaplast <br />99 <br />[plastic foam-core] alumacore, and polycarbonate [Lexan]) mounted to the <br />100 <br />building wall or they may be freestanding. <br />101 <br />2.Type: Temporary and/or annual signs shall be A or T-frame, sandwich, <br />102 <br />curb signs, fabricated and/or a manufactured sign on stands or posts, or a <br />103 <br />type/styleas approved by the Community Development Department. <br />104 <br />3.Size: The surface area of any temporary sign shall not exceed 32 square <br />105 <br />feet. This area shall be in addition to permanent, window, or other signage <br />106 <br />allowed elsewhere in this Chapter. <br />107 <br />4.Duration: During any calendar year temporary signs, such as grand <br />108 <br />opening signs, special event signs, and other similar signs attention getting <br />109 <br />devices may be in place no more than 60 days, which duration may be <br />110 <br />broken into multiple events/days not exceeding a total of 60 days per <br />111 <br />calendar year. Annual signs shall be allowed for a full calendar year and <br />112 <br />may be renewed annually with an approved permit. <br />113 <br />5.Number: A use shall be limited to two temporary signs, and the City <br />114 <br />reserves the right to limit/regulate, through the Temporary Sign Permit, <br />115 <br />the number of temporary signs on multi-tenant, malls, and/or unified <br />116 <br />development sites. <br />117 <br />6.Location: Freestanding temporary signs shall be located on private <br />118 <br />property and outside the public right-of-way set back a minimum of 15 <br />119 <br />feet from a property line. <br />120 <br />56 <br />Page of PROJ0013_SignRegulations_RCA_030613 <br /> <br />
