Subsequently, the research and <br />recommendation of the potential formation of a park board was identified in the City Council's 2012 <br />Work Plan. The Parks and Recreation Commission have been asked to research the issue and provide a <br />recommendation to the City Council at the joint meeting in June. The Board was financed by annual <br />appropriation by the Village Council and was required to submit an annual report with a detailed <br />account of"'its estimated fund requirements for the ensuing year. <br />The Recreation Board was replaced by the existing Parks and Recreation Commission in the early 60's. <br />The Parks and Recreation Commission is advisory with the following duties and functions, as contained <br />in Chapter 203 of the City Code: <br />• Make recommendations to the Director of Parks and Recreation, the City Manager and the <br />Roseville City Council on all matters relating to parks and recreation programs, facilities and <br />services. <br />• Provide a method for citizens' input concerning the city's parks and recreation facilities, <br />programs, needs and concerns. <br />• Identify areas that may require action and/or change to promote a harmonious, safe, and <br />responsive Parks and Recreation program. <br />DRAFT for review by Parks and Recreation Commission 4-2-2013 <br />
