<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City <br />of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held on the 14th day of December, <br />1998, at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Wiski, Goedeke, Mastel, Maschka, Wall <br /> <br />And the following members were absent: None <br /> <br />Member Mastel introduced the following Resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 9614 <br />Requesting Special Legislation to Amend the <br />MnDNR Designation of Langton Lake, City of Roseville, Minnesota <br />From 204W and 49W (wetland) to 49P (protected water) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has designated <br />Langton Lake, in the City of Roseville, as 204W and 49W, a wetland, which designation <br />is included in the City's shoreland ordinance; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City has determined that changing the Minnesota Department <br />of Natural Resources identification number to 49P will complete the process to change <br />the designation of Langton Lake from wetland to protected water; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the designation of Langton Lake as "protected water" versus <br />"wetland" will allow public access and improvement of the resource through human <br />intervention by the management oflake vegetation; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the proposed amendment is in harmony with the general purpose <br />and intent ofthe City's Comprehensive Plan and Title 10 of the City Zoning Code and, <br />further, the proposed amendment supports the goals of the Park and Recreation Plan <br />for Langton Lake; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has reviewed this <br />change of designation and does not oppose the redesignation; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after public hearing the Planning Commission fully supports the <br />amended designation of Langton Lake, the Roseville City Council, through adoption of <br />Ordinance No. 1216 supports the designation; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Roseville <br />hereby requests that the Minnesota State Legislature, during the 1999 Legislative <br />Session, pass special legislation designating Langton Lake, in the City of Roseville, <br />Minnesota, be designated protected water (MnDNR ID #49P). <br />
