Even though attendance was less than <br />30 <br />last year, with approximately 900 attending, Ms. Kelsey advised that exhibitors were happy <br />31 <br />with their engagement with those attending. From responses received by the City Council as <br />32 <br />greeters at the door, Ms. Kelsey advised that many attending this year appeared to be new <br />33 <br />attendees. From staff’s perspective, Ms. Kelsey reported that indicationsof attendance at <br />34 <br />various workshops were remarkable, with the most popular workshops being “Remodeling <br />35 <br />your Kitchen on a Budget;” and the Housing Resource Center’s educational workshop on <br />36 <br />“How to Hire a Contractor and the Bid Process.” Ms. Kelseyfurther noted the kick-off of the <br />37 <br />Universal Design Program, and additional contacts staff received after the event expressing <br />38 <br />interest as well. <br />39 <br />40 <br />Ms. Kelsey reported that in attempts to make this a “zero waste” event, 37% of the event’s <br />41 <br />garbage went into compost;56% was recycled, and 7% ended up as trash. <br />42 <br />43 <br />Mr. Trudgeon publically recognized Ms. Kelsey and Community Development Senior Office <br />44 <br />Assistant Jane Reilly, along with the volunteer committee, for theiryear-round details and set <br />45 <br />up for that day. Mr. Trudgeon opined that it was a good outreach opportunity, and he had <br />46 <br />observed and participated in a good amount of interaction from the public gathering <br />47 <br />information. <br />48 <br />49 <br />b.Good Samaritan Homes County Road B Site <br />50 <br />Ms. Kelsey provided an update on ongoing staff discussions with Good Samaritan Homes <br />51 <br />subsequent to their demolition and decommissioning of approximately four (4) years ago of <br />52 <br />the Roseville 140 bed nursing home property. During the last four (4) years, Ms. Kelsey <br />53 <br />advised that staff continued to keep lines of communication open with Good Sam, and advised <br />54 <br />that they were currently investing building affordable senior housing, with the intent to provide <br />55 <br />amenities allowing gaining in place, including technology that would provide for motion <br /> <br />
