2)The Tamarack Park Preliminary Plan and meeting summary that will require additional
35
work with the neighborhood prior to moving forward. The neighborhood meetings
36
generated quite a bit of discussion and concern about the past, current and future use of
37
the park and how it works with the neighborhood.
38
39
The Renewal Program is a defined project and defined budget program. Attached is the original list of
40
outlined projects and budgets darted 7/6/11. The preliminary plan schematics were developed as part of
41
the overall community process and may include more than what the renewal program has defined.
42
However, it is important that each park be considered through a “big picture” allowing neighborhoods to
43
identify ideas and issues that may be able to be addressed during this Renewal phase within the allowed
44
budget or something to strive for in the future. This approach will also provide a vision and may allow for
45
other potential resources. To be clear on the identified projects and budgets of the adopted Renewal
46
Program, they are specifically called out on the plan page, i.e. project and budget.
47
48
With the completion of the preliminary plans, the next neighborhood interaction will include a
49
construction inform notice to the nearby park neighborhoods.
50
51
Michael Schroeder, LHB will be at your meeting to review the above mentioned preliminary plan sets.
52
The next step then will be to complete the detailed construction plans and specifications for the projects
53
and begin work in the fall.
54
55
The following preliminary plan sets are still work in progress with a portion of them being brought to you
56
to consider at your May 20, 2013 meeting:
57
Acorn Park
58
Central Park Lexington
59
Central Park Dale Street
60
County Road B2/Victoria sidewalk project
61
Evergreen Park
62
Langton Lake Park
63
Mapleview Park
64
Oasis Park
65
Pocahontas Park
66
Rosebrook Park
67
Reservoir Woods Park
68
Sandcastle Park
69
Southwest (SW) Roseville
70
71
As a part of the Renewal Program, the following parkland acquisitions are also anticipated:
72
The former Mounds View School District offices property located at the corner of
73
Hamline Avenue and Lydia Avenue and adjacent to Autumn Grove Park
74
The former Press Gym site on Fry Street and adjacent to Rosebrook Park
75
Search for opportunities in the southwest sector of Roseville
76
77
All Parks and Recreation Renewal related information is on the city website at www.cityofroseville.com,
78
and then click on the Parks and Recreation Renewal tab on the left side of the screen.
