Attachment A <br />LED Retrofit Four Year Plan <br />2013 -2016 <br />With the Council approved funding for street light replacement, staff has drafted a time line for <br />light replacement. This is proposed to be a three to four year project to replace lights in six areas in <br />the City. <br />Area #1— 2013 <br />North Larpenteur Avenue <br />31 pedestrian walkway lights: 70 watt lamps and ballast replaced with a 42 watt LED lamp <br />City Hall Campus Buildings <br />11 wall pack lights: 70 watt Metal Halide replaced with a 14 watt LED fixture <br />16 wall pack lights: 100 watt Metal Halide replaced with a 37 watt LED fixture <br />2 recess cans: 70 watt Metal Halide in the canopy replaced with a 16 LED can fixture <br />Area # 2 — 2014 <br />County Road B -2 <br />8 pedestrian walkway lights: 150 watt lamps and ballast replaced with a 90 watt LED lamp <br />City Hall Campus Area <br />32 pedestrian walkway lights: 150 watt lamps and ballast replaced with a 90 watt LED lamp <br />12 shoe box parking lot lights: Retrofit existing lights with LED kit to maintain the existing wattage <br />Area # 3 — 2015 <br />County Road C <br />37 pedestrian walkway lights: 150 watt lamps and ballast replaced with a 90 watt LED lamp <br />Area # 4 — 2016 <br />North Larpenteur Avenue <br />9 overhead streetlights: 200 watt replaced with TBD <br />County Road B2/ 35W bridge <br />13 overhead streetlights: 200 watt lamps replaced with TBD <br />County Road B2/ Pascal Street <br />2 shoe box overhead streetlights: 200 watt replaced with TBD <br />The savings for these replacements is listed below. It involves hours of operation per day and the <br />amount of labor saved by not having to replace bulbs and ballasts every year. <br />Street Lights & Pedestrian Lights based on 12 hours per day operation (Payback normally between 2 -3 years) <br />• 400w MH drawing 456w /hr @$.12 /kwh costs $239.67 per year in electric costs. <br />• 90w LED Retrofit Light Kit @$.12 /kwh costs $51.51 per year in electric costs. <br />• Savings of $188.16 per year per fixture plus an average of $85 per year in <br />maintenance= $273.16/year <br />Building LED Lighting Retrofit Kits (Average payback is 1.8 to 2.5 years) <br />• 175w MH drawing 210w /hr @$.12 /kwh costs $220.75 per year in electric costs <br />• 54w LED Retrofit Light Kit @$.12 /kwh costs $56.73 per year in electric costs <br />
