Councilmember Laliberte <br /> expressed her hesitancy with this request as proposed without additional infor- <br /> mation being available. <br /> After further discussion, Councilmember Laliberte opined that there should be an <br /> easy fix working with the current provider if design was the big issue; and sug- <br /> gested ala carte options available to get the website designed to the City's liking, <br /> but that it could become an immense and costly process. Councilmember Laliber- <br /> te admitted that the current site had considerable room for improvement; but not- <br /> ed that she didn't see recommendations of the Civic Engagement Task Force who <br /> had done considerable work on this issue. <br /> Mr. Pratt clarified that the Civic Engagement Task Force's thoughts were incor- <br /> porated with Attachment A to the staff report. Mr. Pratt further clarified that the <br /> ala carte portion of this proposal was for the mobile and enhanced e- <br /> communication components only, with the redesign sold as a package and repre- <br /> senting the least expensive of those considered, with only three (3) responses re- <br /> ceived and reviewed. <br /> Councilmember Laliberte recognized staff's comments and the expense of this <br /> option; however, she noted that the existing vendor most always proved less work <br /> and money; with the only question remaining as to whether or not the City could <br /> work with the current vendor. Councilmember Laliberte reiterated her concern <br /> that she didn't feel she had enough data or that the process itself had been exhaus- <br /> tive. <br /> Since the Civic Engagement Task Force representatives were initially appointed <br /> with this as one of their charges, Councilmember Willmus questioned why their <br /> role appeared to have diminished. <br /> Motion to Extend Curfew <br /> Willmus moved, Laliberte seconded, moving to extend the City Council curfew to <br /> 10:30 p.m. to complete this discussion. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus; Laliberte; Etten; McGehee; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> Public Comment <br /> Gary Grefenberg <br /> In response on behalf of the Civic Engagement Task Force, Mr. Grefenberg ad- <br /> vised that they supported Fredrickson Communications and Vision Internet as <br /> outlined in the staff report as the first step. Mr. Grefenberg clarified that the <br /> Committee also recommended that the City Council authorize an RFP for the civ- <br /> ic engagement component; however, the committee did not recommend the mo- <br />
