Regular City Council Meeting <br /> Monday, May 20, 2013 <br /> Page 3 <br /> Mayor Roe advised that the Human Rights Commission and staff had removed Item 7.h <br /> from tonight's agenda, entitled, "Direct Staff to Advertise Vacancy on the Human Rights <br /> Commission." <br /> Mayor Roe further noted that Business/Action Item 13.c entitled, "Community Develop- <br /> ment Department Request to Perform an Abatement for Unresolved Violation of City <br /> Code at 949 Brooks;" had been removed from tonight's agenda due to resolution of the <br /> violation by the property owner. <br /> Willmus moved, McGehee seconded, approval of the agenda as amended. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Ayes: Willmus; Laliberte; McGehee; and Roe. <br /> Nays: None. <br /> 3. Public Comment <br /> Mayor Roe called for public comment by members of the audience on any non-agenda <br /> items. No one appeared to speak at this time. <br /> 4. Council Communications, Reports and Announcements <br /> Mayor Roe announced an upcoming family event sponsored by the Ramsey-Washington <br /> Metro Area Watershed District entitled "WaterFest," a celebration of watershed aware- <br /> ness and clean lakes. Mayor Roe advised that this free event was scheduled for Saturday, <br /> June 1, 2013, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with additional information available on their <br /> website. <br /> Mayor Roe advised that the last meeting regarding redevelopment of the property at Dale <br /> Street and the former Fire Station was scheduled for May 28, 2013, the meetings held at <br /> the King of Kings Lutheran Church on N Dale Street. <br /> Mayor Roe announced a tribute concert for the Fallen Heroes Education Fund Benefit, <br /> was scheduled for June 23, 2013 at the Arden Hills North Heights Lutheran Church. <br /> Councilmember Laliberte reported on her attendance at the most recent Community Dia- <br /> logue, sponsored by the Roseville Human Rights Commission and funded through a grant <br /> from the Busch Foundation, with good discussions based on ideas generated from the <br /> first dialogue held earlier. Councilmember Laliberte thanked the Human Rights Com- <br /> mission for sponsoring this event, and expressed her interest in receiving their final report <br /> on the dialogues. <br /> Councilmember Laliberte noted that Roseville citizen, Jim Bedzinski, had been awarded <br /> the 2013 BIG award as Big Brother of the Year by the Big Brothers/Big Sisters organiza- <br /> tion, from a field of four in the running for that recognition. On behalf of the community, <br /> Councilmember Laliberte offered congratulations to Mr. Bedzinski. <br />
