infiltration from the proposed cul-de-sac,while minimal discussion as it related to the
properties along Millwood Avenue. The proposed cul-de-sac will add significant light infiltration
to our property in addition to those that are north facing along Millwood Avenue. Incoming
and outgoing traffic from the proposed cul-de-sac may expose our homes to headlights into our
first floor windows. While we can appreciate the concerns of the residents of Lydia Avenue,
there is significant concern for those of us who are adjacent to the proposed cul-de-sac in
addition to those directly across from it. If this proposed development is allowed to move
forward, it is our expectations that the City of Roseville will work with the developer to address
the light infiltration concerns of all affected homeowners.
We are not opposed to a development on this property and would certainly welcome new
neighbors;we just want to ensure that our concerns are heard, recorded and addressed. While
this particular development does not in any way fit in with the characteristics of our
neighborhood,we understand that the land will be developed at some point. Our current
neighborhood supports a multitude of wildlife: deer, fox, pheasants and a variety of birds. A
development of this size will jeopardize the wildlife that has been one of the best benefits of
living in our neighborhood. Putting the maximum amount of structures on this property may fit
into the legalities of the planning/engineering process but we do not believe that the benefits
outweigh the risks associated with it. This proposed development may bring 6 new neighbors
in beautiful homes, but the risks faced in lost trees, flooded yards, flooded basements,
homeless and distressed wildlife and the quality of life we have become accustomed to as
residents of Roseville is not worth the risks associated with this proposal.
If this proposed development is ultimately allowed to proceed, it is our expectation that the
City will work with the developer, and they, in turn, will work with the neighborhood to take
our multitude of concerns into account and to fully address them. At this point, the stakes are
too high and we have much more to lose than to benefit.
Please feel free to contact us at 651-481-9810 (home), 651-783-2184 (Jody cell) or email us at
maroonmcelrov @msn.com.
Thank you.
Greg and Jody McElroy
905 Millwood Avenue
Roseville, MN 55113
