Date: 06/10/2013 <br />Item: 5.a <br />In Appreciation <br />Hannah Kiresuk <br />Whereas: <br /> The Girl Scouts of the USA has provided young women leadership opportunities for <br />more than 90 years; and <br />Whereas: <br /> The City of Roseville is committed to recognizing and honoring volunteerism and the <br />hard work of members of the community; and <br />Whereas: <br /> Hannah Kiresuk is a member of Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys; <br />and <br />Whereas: <br /> Hannah has a deep commitment to science and protecting the environment; and <br />Whereas: <br /> Hannah discovered that both students and adults have limited knowledge of honeybees <br />and their role in a healthy habitat; and <br />Whereas: <br /> Hannah developed a unique and fun education program for elementary students in <br />which she shared her own knowledge and expertise about honeybees; and <br />Whereas: <br /> Hannah designed and built a demonstration hive to take to school classrooms, delivered <br />units on honeybees, and developed resources in a variety of media to further enhance learning and <br />allow others to continue the activities; and <br />Whereas: <br /> In recognition of Hannah’s hard work, she has achieved the Girl Scout Gold Award, the <br />highest award in Girl Scouting. <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved <br />, that the City Council hereby declare June 10, 2013, to be Girl Scout <br />Day in the City of Roseville and urges all citizens to recognize Hannah Kiresuk’s accomplishments of <br />earning the Girl Scout Gold Award. <br />In the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, U.S.A. <br />In Witness Whereof <br />, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Roseville to be <br />affixed this tenth day of June 2013. <br />________________________ <br />Mayor Daniel J.
