In Appreciation <br />Amanda Walker <br />Whereas: <br /> The Girl Scouts of the USA has provided young women leadership opportunities for <br />more than 90 years; and <br />Whereas: <br /> The City of Roseville is committed to recognizing and honoring volunteerism and the <br />hard work of members of the community; and <br />Whereas: <br /> Amanda Walker is a member of Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin River Valleys; <br />and <br />Whereas: <br /> Amanda wanted to teach others about scoliosis, particularly those living with scoliosis – <br />both newly diagnosed and long-time patients, that they are not alone and that their lives do not have to <br />change just because of their diagnosis; and <br />Whereas: <br /> Amanda, along with her doctor, family, and specialists at Gillette Children’s Specialty <br />Healthcare, planned and led an educational and networking event for scoliosis patients, reaching <br />patients from Minnesota, the Midwest, and a few international countries as well; and <br />Whereas: <br /> Amanda worked with staff at Gillette to make “Living With a Curve” an annual event; <br />and <br />Whereas: <br /> In recognition of Amanda’s hard work, she has achieved the Girl Scout Gold Award, <br />the highest award in Girl Scouting. <br />Now, Therefore Be It Resolved <br />, that the City Council hereby declare June 10, 2013, to be Girl Scout <br />Day in the City of Roseville and urges all citizens to recognize Amanda Walker’s accomplishments of <br />earning the Girl Scout Gold Award. <br />In the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, State of Minnesota, U.S.A. <br />In Witness Whereof <br />, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Seal of the City of Roseville to be <br />affixed this tenth day of June 2013. <br />________________________ <br />Mayor Daniel J.
