REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> Date: 06/17/2013 <br /> Item No.: 13.b <br />Department Approval City Manager Approval <br />Item Description: Authorize Issuing Request for Proposals for Recycling Services <br />B <br />ACKGROUND <br />1 <br />Roseville has contracted for curbside recycling service since 1992. The current contract expires <br />2 <br />at the end of 2013. At the January 7 meeting, the Council directed staff to draft a Request For <br />3 <br />Proposals (RFP) for recycling services and have it reviewed by the Public Works, Environment <br />4 <br />and Transportation Commission: <br />5 <br />Mayor Roe suggested, before the RFP, that the PWETC review the process and then the City <br />6 <br />Council review and formally authorize the RFP or submission for quotes. <br />7 <br />(excerpt of January 7, 2013 City Council minutes) <br />8 <br />The PWET Commision spent approximately four hours over the course of its February, March <br />9 <br />and May meetings reviewing, revising, and determining ranking percentages for a set of <br />10 <br />Community Values to be incorporated into the RFP and then reviewing the draft RFP.
