8 March 2007
Michelle Grimes
1741 Stanbridge Avenue
Roseville, MN 55113
1

RE: Your variance application
Dear Ms. Grimes,
The Community Development Department has received your variance application and has found
it to be complete. Your request will be heard by the Variance Board at their meeting of Apri14,
2007. Please call me and make arrangements to pick up a"Notice Land Use Application" sign
which must be posted along the street in front of your house at least 10 days prior to the date of
the public hearing.
Because of the physical limitations of the natural and man-made systems in place to deal with
storm water runoff, excess impervious coverage on a residential property (i.e., more than 30%)
can have serious impacts further downstream. For this reason, variance requests like yours that
involve excess coverage are approved only with the condition that certain steps are taken to
minimize rain water runoff from your property; such mitigation measures may include installing
gutters that direct water into the lawn or creating a rainwater garden to collect rainfall and filter it
into the ground. If your request is approved, the City Engineer will help you determine what
steps will be necessary to satisfy such a condition.
Finally, if you haven't already contacted the Housing Resource Center (651-486-7401), you
might find additional resources like home improvement grants, low-interest loans, or design
assistance.
Should you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to call me at 651-792-7073.
Sincerely,
CITY OF ROSEVILLE
Bryan Lloyd
Associate Plarmer
City of Roseville Community Development Department
2660 Civic Center Drive : Roseville, Minnesota 55113
651-792-7005 : TDD 651-792-7399 :• www.ci.roseville.mn.us
