PUBLIC NOTICE <br />The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) invites public comments on a proposed <br />re-issuance of a Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) permit to Siemens Water <br />Technologies Corp, for its hazardous waste storage and treatment facility located at 2430 Rose <br />Place, Roseville, Minnesota. <br />THE PUBLIC COMMENT PERIODS RUNS FROM SEPTEMBER 21, 2007 THROUGH <br />NOVEMBER 5, 2007. <br />This RCRA permit was first issued on December 31, 1986. The existing permit was reissued to <br />Siemens Water Technologies Corp. (under its previous name, U.S. Filter Recovery Services, Inc.) on <br />March 28, 1999. The MPCA Commissioner has made the preliminary determination that the RCRA <br />storage and treatment permit should be reissued. The RCRA permit authorizes and requires the <br />Permittee to store hazardous waste in containers and tanks, and to treat hazardous waste in tanks and <br />miscellaneous units. <br />The Permittee is a commercial hazardous waste facility and receives hazardous wastes from both <br />foreign and domestic sources. Hazardous waste management capabilities at the site include the <br />receiving and processing of aqueous liquids, solids, and sludges containing heavy metals and <br />cyanides. The Permittee receives canisters of spent anion and cation resins used to treat <br />wastewaters generated from various industries, including metal finishing and printed circuit <br />fabricating industries. <br />The draft RCRA permit and permit application are available for public inspection and copying in the <br />Reference Area of the Roseville Branch of the Ramsey County Suburban Library, 2180 Hamline <br />Avenue North, Roseville, Minnesota. These documents are also available for review at the MPCA, <br />520 Lafayette Road North, St. Paul from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., weekdays. <br />These documents will be available for review through November 5, 2007.
