No <br />TMDL study is required for this type of proposed capital improvement. <br />26. Comment: The College as Environmental Steward: The College's actions are <br />inconsistent with the goal of preserving the irreplaceable nature of their campus <br />or of the environment. <br />Response: The Co/lege disagrees. Since 2003, the Callege has had an active <br />buckthorn removal process providing 40 hours a w�e _� buckthorn removal <br />during the summer months and the College will cantinue with this p/an. Also, <br />during the spring, the biology department utilizes fab time to remove buckthorn <br />around campus. This last spring, the biolog�rclass consisted of 44 students out <br />in the field removing buckthorn. � <br />The College continues to have Campus Service Day, whicfit� udes campus <br />clean-up where students, faculty, and staff participate to mak� `=-si nificant <br />impact on keeping our campus free of litter. �� <br />The College continues to plant trees around the campus in an effort to replace <br />lost trees due to storm�r���nage or their natural life cycles. <br />Concerning storm water�`° arta � enf and erosion control, the EAW outlines <br />� � �������: <br />that the College recogniz�� that�'seueral outfall structures are in need of <br />rehabilitation or replaceme The EAW states that these improvements will <br />coincide with other stormwa� ���agemen# imp�ovements and portions of the <br />proposed project, depending �,�rt�t�%� location of fhe outfall structure. <br />A/so, the EAW states that specia� �� : easures will be taken to protect any adjacent <br />water bodies or wetlands from er < and sedimentation during and after <br />construction while vegetation is ge ' g established. Installation of high flow silt <br />fences and bio-rolls will be installed prior to construction and maintained <br />throughout construction until turf has been established. <br />The College has demonstrated a clear and evident appreciation of their campus. <br />The maintenance issues discussed by residents throughout the PUD and EAW <br />process are recognized by the College and will be addressed.
