15 June 2007
Laszlo Fodor
1050 Sherren Street
Roseville, MN 55113
1

RE: Front Yard Setback Permit approval
Dear Mr. Fodor,

On Thursday, June 14`", the Roseville Development Review Committee reviewed and
recommended approval of a FRONT YARD SETBACK PERMIT to construct your proposed
front porch and garage addition that will encroach into the required front yard setback.
Comments Regardin Issues at Hand: Your neighbors across Sherren Street sent emails to
Community Development staff in support the approval of the requested setback permit.
Development Review Committee Recommendation• The Setback Permit Review Committee
found that the proposal does satisfy more than eight of the twelve applicable criteria for
approving a Setback Permit as listed in Section 1013.05 of the City Code. The DRC therefore
recommended approval of the Setback Permit, with the additional conditions that the exterior
materials used on the improvements are to be similar/complementary to the existing structure
and that gutters are to be installed on the new addition, where appropriate, to direct rain water
away from the building and into the front or rear yards. I concur with the recommendations of
the DRC and so I will issue the requested Setback Permit with the above conditions.
Because your immediate neighbors have not indicated that they would not appeal the approval of
the Setback Permit, the building permit may not be issued until after the (ten-day) appeal period
has expired at NOON on Monday, June 25th. If no appeal is received, a building permit would
then be issued pursuant to approval of the building plans by the Building Official. If an official
appeal is properly registered, the appeal will be heard by the Variance Board at its meeting on
August 1, 2007.
Should you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to call me at 651-792-7071.
Sincerely,
CITY OF ROSEVILLE
John Stark
Community Development Director
CC: Gerry Proulx
City of Roseville Community Development Department
2660 Civic Center Drive ❖ Roseville, Minnesota 55113
651-792-7005 •:• TDD 651-792-7399 •:• www.ci.roseville.mn.us
