Removal: During any calendar year, temporary signs, grand opening <br />signs, special event signage and other attention getting devices may be in <br />place no more than twelve (12) days, except institutional uses which shall <br />be allowed for no more than thirty (30) days. <br />c. Size: The surface area of any temporary sign shall not exceed seventy five <br />(75) square feet. This area shall be in addition to permanent, window and <br />other signage allowed elsewhere in this chapter. <br />d. Location: A temporary sign shall be located a minimum of 15 feet from a <br />property line. <br />Not Required. A permit is not required for the following sign. <br />One noncommercial sign no larger than six (6) square feet and no higher than six <br />feet (6') tall may be displayed on any lot in all zoning districts without obtaining a <br />permit. <br />2. Where this chapter allows any commercial sign, a noncommercial sign meeting <br />the same size, location, and other standards shall be allowed without obtaining a <br />permit. <br />3. Signs including electronic message devices within the interior of buildings, or <br />signs which are not intended to be visible beyond the premises on which the signs <br />are located are not subject to the regulations set forth in this chapter. (Ord. 1163, <br />7-24-1995) <br />4. Nameplate Signs <br />5. Construction Signs: Construction signs shall be confined to the site of <br />construction, alteration or repair and shall be constructed of high-quality material <br />maintained in good repair. No more than one sign is permitted on each street <br />frontage the project abuts. The sign shall be removed within one hundred eighty <br />(180) days of the date of the issuance of a building permit for the work. A <br />conditional use permit is required for a contractor sign to remain in place longer <br />than allowed by this subsection. Construction signs are allowed in zoning <br />districts in accordance with the following criteria: <br />ZONING SIZE HEIGHT PLACEMENT/SETBACK <br />DISTRICT <br />R-1 & R-2 16 sq. ft.
