_
0

To: The Citv of Roseville
From: Grant Feyen and Emily Tamura
Re: 1000 Woodhill Drive

Attachment D
We are engaged to be married and are in the process of purchasing the above mentioned
home. We are requesting a variance on the set back requirement in order to add another
stall to the single car garage. EmiIy is employed by Minnesota Spine as a certified
occupationat therapist. She also has 2 other part time jobs one of which is a PCA to an
autistic 10 year old girl. Grant has been empIoyed with UPS for 10 years and works
nights. Emily has a birth defect which affects her walking capabilities. She wears a
brace. For sure, she has to lave a garage stall for her vehicle as trying to prepare her car
in the snow and ice wauld be very risky given her situation. Grant's employment
provides the better part of their income; therefore, he needs for his car to be reliable in
order to get to work on time. We hope tnat we have given you enough information that
you can see our plight. We need a garage to house both vehicles in order to get to work.
From the existing corner of the garage to the lot line is about 11'8". In order to add a
stall we would need about 10' of real estate which would leave almost a 2' setback.
Another reason we need an extra statl is that this home has limited parking. I believe
Woodhill has "no parking" on the street. With the extra stall, we would have parking for
family and guests when they visit. We would be happy to meet with the review
committee if that woutd be helpful.
