We do not need a pawn
shop on our "main street," just blocks away from my children's elementary
school, neighborhoods, and retailers who have invested significant amounts
of time and money in our community.
When we were looking for a house several years ago, we were attracted to
Roseville because of its excellent schools, proximity to many things, and
nice neighborhoods to live. A pawn shop goes against everything that makes
Roseville a desirable place to live. We've all seen first ring suburbs go
downhill, and we want to make sure that does not happen to Roseville. If I
was looking for a house and drove by a pawn shop nearby, I would not want to
move into that neighborhood/suburb. Even if a pawn shop meets the zoning
requirements, it does not mean that it is good for a community. As a
current homeowner, if a pawn shop moves in nearby, I will certainly think
twice before investing more money in my home.
Thanks for your consideration,
Katharine Park
2070 Midlothian Rd
Roseville, MN
 34
`..- `.
