As you know, on Thursday, June 19`�', the Setback Permit Review Committee (SPRC) reviewed and recommended approval of a SIDE YARD SETBACK PERMIT to accommodate the dining room addition and screen porch that will encroach up to 6 feet into the required side yard setback. The SPRC found that the proposal does satisfy more than eight of the applicable twelve criteria for approving a Setback Permit as listed in Section 1013.05 of the City Code, and therefore recommended approval of the Setback Permit, with the following conditions: 1. grading between the proposed addition and the side property line shall modified as necessary to ensure that runoff from the rear yard and the proposed addition continues to drain toward the street and is not diverted onto the neighbor's property ; and 2. the Setback Permit approval shall expire 6 months from today's date if the building permit has not been obtained by that time. I concur with the recommendations of the SPRC and I will issue the requested Setback Permit with the above conditions. Both of the adjacent property owners have indicated their support for the Setback Permit, so the building permit may be issued immediately, pursuant to approval of the building plans by the Building Official.
