Attachment D
Aaron Gjelhaug, $94 Lovell Avenue, requests a variance to city code 1004 for a front
porch roof that would encroach towards the street 6 feet more than the house is currently.
It would cover the ecisting front concrete stoop.
The reason for the roof is to add curb appeal to the house since we are now remodelin
the house in tlle forrn of adding a 2" floor. It is now a rambler. The roof would add a
gable to the street-side view, so it would be like other houses in the neighborhood and
add character and moi•e esthetic interest to the newly remodeled house.
Three neihboring houses are a[so close to the street. 894 Lovell is now 31 feet from the
curb. 888 Lovell, adiacent to the east, is 2l feet from the pavement. 2323 Victoria. two
houses to the east with the driveway on Lovell, is 5 feet from the pavement. 902 Loveil,
adjacent to the west is 24 feet from the pavement.
Another function the roof would serve is to provide a low covered entry at the 2-story
eave. If approved, the roof would be huilt as a seamless part of the whole desi;n and nt
look like it was shick on as an after thought.
ht ' ti
i i5 ► c:.; {"un wk- u;c;K w. Zc - 4iZ
Prepared by Matt Collova
General Manager of Brothers Additions — A Division of Collova Builders
• •
