As I indicated yesterday, we recognize the state of the <br />economy will preclude from a developement from occuring in the short term,hence the two years. After two years, <br />no one knows for sure what state the economy will be in, I would prefer that we are not locked in for a longer <br />period. As you know, it is a fine balance between reconizing current realities and spurring the redevelopment of <br />the area. The longer the site is used as outside storage, the more difficult if will be to redevelop the whole area. <br />Nothing stops the property owner asking for the IUP to extended at the appropriate time or reapplying for a new <br />IUP. <br />In regards to the imprevious suface and stormwater issues, the position of the city is that we would not support <br />the postponement of storm water management as requested in the letter and wish the IUP condition remain as <br />stated in the report.
