Bryan Lloyd
Subject: Clearwire Proposal at Acorn Park
From: r willmus [mailto:rwillmus@msn.com]
Sent: Wednesday, January 06, 2010 9:46 AM
To: *RVCouncil; *RVPlanningCommission
Subject: Clearwire Proposal at Acorn Park
City Council and Planning Commission Members

Last evening the Parks Commission voted down the Clearwire Proposal located at Acorn Park.
With the onset of the Parks Master Planning, and the potential that this and many parks may
be re-tasked the group did not feel it would be prudent to plan a park around this tower
site.
As you may recall this proposal has changed greatly since it was first was brought forward in
September. Originally the tower was to be no larger than a light pole and have a support
area of about 7 feet by 7 feet. The Parks Commission was open to that proposal because it
could have served a additional purpose in helping to light the existing outdoor rink. It
would also have been much easier to re-locate should that need arise due to the results of
the new Parks Master Plan. As the proposal now stands it has changed to a tower of 125 to
150 feet tall with a support area of 1300 to 1400 square feet located at the base of the
tower. As you can imaging, it would be much more of an obstacle in our planning efforts and
require significant expense on the city's part should the site need to be re-located.
Thank You
Bob Willmus
633-4595
Parks and Recreation Commission Chair
Confidentiality Statement: The documents accompanying this transmission contain confidential
information that is legally privileged.
