4.27Non targeted materials <br />Non-recyclable materials that are not included in the City’s recycling <br />program. Examples of typical non-targeted items include (but are not limited <br />to): pumps on plastic bottles, ceramic material in glass streams, coated paper <br />packaging, etc. <br />4.28 Official Board Markets (OBM) <br />Industry publication containing prices for secondary fiber or recovered paper <br />in the form of the OBM “Yellow Sheet.” <br /> 4.29 Organics <br />Organic materials derived from plant and animal matter including non- <br />recyclable paper that is collected for composting. <br />4.30 Paper <br />Paper includes the following: newspapers including inserts (ONP); <br />household office paper and mail; boxboard; carrier stock cardboard; old <br />corrugated cardboard (OCC) including boxes for delivery and take out <br />pizzas; phone books; kraft bags; and magazines/catalogs (OMG). <br />4.31 Participation Rate <br />A record of which specific households on a recycling route set out recyclable <br />material at some point during a defined period of time (usually one month) <br />as a percentage of the overall number of eligible households. <br />4.32 Plastic containers <br />Rigid plastic containers; lids; and toy and electronic packaging – excluding <br />black plastic, with a resin identification code of: #1 (PET, PETE); #2 <br />(HDPE); #3 (PVC); #4 (LDPE); #5 (PP); #6 (PS) excluding Styrofoam; or <br />#7 (other). <br /> 4.33 PET <br />Plastic bottles made from polyethylene terephthalate (e.g. soft drink, water <br />and other bottles). <br />4.34 Process residuals <br />The normal amount of material that can not be economically recycled due to <br />material characteristics such as size, shape, color, cross-material <br />contamination, etc. and must be disposed as mixed municipal solid waste. <br />Process residuals include but not limited to bulky items, contaminants, <br />sorted tailings, floor sweepings and rejects from specific processing <br />equipment (e.g. materials cleaned from screens, etc). Process residuals does <br />not include clean, separated products that are normally processed and <br />prepared for shipment to markets as commodities but are of relatively low- <br />value because of depressed market demand conditions. <br />11 <br /> <br />
