<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />* * * * * * * * * * * <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County <br />of Ramsey, Minnesota was duly held on the 29th day of June, 1999 at 6:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: Mastel, Wi ski and Maschka. <br />and the following were absent: Goedeke and Wall. <br /> <br />Member Maschka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 9662 <br /> <br />A Plan for Providing Annual Firefighter Pension Increases in Years 2000- <br />2002 and Studying Benefit Options <br /> <br />WHEREAS: The Roseville Firefighters Relief Association and City representatives have met and developed a plan <br />addressing concerns of both parties with respect to the Firefighter Relief Pension Fund and <br /> <br />WHEREAS: the following plan has been agreed: <br /> <br />1. Options for improving the pension plan will be studied and recommendations shall be brought back to the Relief <br />membership and the City Council on or before January 1,2001. <br /> <br />2. During the study period, the benefit levels shall be increased within the following parameters: <br /> <br />1. The plan s pension liability shall be no less than 0%. There shall be no unfunded liability except where <br />financial market flucuations may occur during the current level of approved pensions. <br /> <br />H. Annual contributions shall consist of (a) State Fire Aid and (b) a City contribution of $100,000. <br /> <br />HI. There shall be an annual actuarial review of the pension plan from which a determination can be made <br />with regard to an annual pension increase under the aforementioned sections i. and ii. <br /> <br />IV. Any pension plan benefit increases available under sections i, ii and iii above shall be effective upon <br />approval of the Relief membership and the City Council and will be payable from the following annual <br />dates: <br /> <br />a. January 1, 2000 <br />b. January 1,2001 <br />c. January 1,2002 <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council ofthe City of Roseville, Minnesota, that the above plan <br />be approved. <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Wiski and upon a vote being taken <br />thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Mastel, Wiski and Maschka. <br /> <br />and the following voted against the same: None. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON, said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
