1J
May 27, 2010
Dwayne Albrecht
2200 Doswell Avenue
Saint Paul, MN 55108

-
RE: 1450 County Road C interim use application extension
Dear Mr. Albrecht,

On May 24, 2010, Roseville's City Council began its discussion of the application to approve the
outdoor storage of irrigation equipment and materials as an interim use at 1450 county Road C
and then tabled the discussion to allow City staff to provide more information about the
circumstances surrounding the application. According to Minnesota Statute 15.99, Roseville has
until June 7, 2010 to take formal action, but because the City Council has outstanding questions,
the Council may not be able to approve or deny the proposed text amendment by the June 7'
deadline.
To deal with a situation like this in which lingering issues need to be resolved, Minnesota Statute
15.99 also allows the City one opportunity to extend the time allowed for final action approving
or denying requests for an additional 60 days. The intent of this letter is to notify you that the
time limit for final action on the proposed interim use is being extended. While Roseville now
has until August 6, 2010 to finally approve or deny the application, the City has no interest in the
process lasting longer than it needs to, and we will make every reasonable effort to achieve a
resolution of the application as quickly as possible.
Members of the City Council also expressed an interest in approving a landscape screening plan
as part of an approval of the interim use application rather than requiring that the landscape
screening plan be designed and implemented by a particular date after the application has been
approved. With this in mind, please prepare and submit a landscape screening plan by Friday
June 11, 2010. Since the goal of the plan is to provide year-round screening of the outdoor
storage from the adjacent residential properties to the south, the plan should indicate what
species of trees and/or shrubs you intend to plan, the quantities and locations of the plantings,
and any provisions for watering and otherwise maintaining the screening. Once you've submitted
the plan, City staff will review it and seek the comments of the adjacent residential property
owners.
Please feel free call me at 651-792-7071 if you have any questions or concerns.
Respectfully,
CITY OF ROSEVILLE
 ----.
Patrick Trudgeon
Community Development Director
City of Roseville Community Development Department
2660 Civic Center Drive ❖ Roseville, Minnesota 55113
651-792-7005 ❖ www.ci.roseville.mn.us/development
