Please remain focused on the fact that Roseville will be a better community for the Twin Lakes redevelopment project.
• Some may argue that the city has enough commercial, but that is a matter for consumers and the marketplace
to decide. The developer has done their homework and it making a substantial investment in the belief
Roseville has an appetite for at least this much more commercial use.
• Much of the commercial enterprises being brought in, like the almost 9°/a being used for medical, actually will
greatly enhance the community and the value of our homes.
• We are converting more than 87%+ of the land from trucking and industrial to other activities far less toxic and
taxing on our natural resources.
• Our adjacent lakes will be safer and healthier because as the land processes the existing contaminants, new
contaminants will be produced at a far slower pace.
• Substantial funds will be made available to our natural resources through the Park Land Dedication Fees.
I can understand some may have been against the redevelopment in its entirety, but we're beyond that stage. Increasing barriers
to completion and adding unnecessary costs do nothing but hurt the developer. These costs will be passed on to our newest
neighbors, making Roseville a less-attractive place for commerce or to live. The biggest concern I have, though, is the
introduction of new contaminants into our city and the unproven contention that crushing materials that have been there for
centuries is more dangerous than disrupting that same material for purposes of removal and replacing it with new material that
has new contaminants. I believe the concern is genuine. I just think the conclusion is illogical and places the city's natural
resources and people at greater risk than the proposed solution.
Please support the developer in their efforts to use existing material with existing risks instead of introducing new ones. LeYs
begin the process of cleaning up this long time blight on the community. Let's start financing the improvement of our natural
resources through the money that will be made available through the park land dedication fees. All that is good for the city and its
citizens about the redevelopment project is being held up through this issue.
Thank you for your consideration on this matter.
Bill Davies
464 Lovell Avenue
Roseville, MN 55113
H: (651) 483-9698
C: (651) 769-5236
F: (651) 846-4873
E: AsktheCommissioner@yahoo.com
OS/22/2006
