Fridley City Code Chapter 220 Section 220.06.24. <br />� <br />18. Family. <br />An individual or two (2) or more persons related by blood, marriage, or adoption, including <br />foster children, and bona fide domestic servants, subject to the following conditions: <br />A. More than five (5) unrelated persons, living in a dwelling unit shall not constitute a <br />family. <br />B. A group home which is a federal tax exempt, non-profit organization shall constitute a <br />family whether or not the total persons other than the live-in staff or principal occupant <br />exceeds five (5). <br />19. Floor Area, Gross. <br />The sum of the gross horizontal area of the several floors of a structure or structures measured <br />from the exterior faces and exterior walls or from the center line of common walls separating <br />dwelling units. Basements devoted to storage and/or off-street parking shall not be included. <br />20. Functioning. <br />[n such physical condition as to safely perform the service or services for which an item is <br />designed or intended. <br />.-. <br />21. Governing Building Code. <br />The applicable edition of the Minnesota State Building Code. <br />22. Habitable Room. <br />A room or, enclosed floor space used or intended to be used for living, sleeping, cooking or <br />eating purposes; excluding bathrooms, water closet compartments, laundries, furnace rooms, <br />unfinished basements, pantries, utility rooms, foyers, communicating corridors, stairways, <br />closets, storage spaces, and attics. <br />23. Heated Water. <br />Heated water supplied to plumbing fixtures at a temperature of not less than 110 degrees <br />Fahrenheit. <br />24. Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Systems. <br />Any and all units, equipment, material, and miscellaneous devices used in the process of heating, <br />ventilating, and air conditioning of any dwelling or dwelling unit. <br />� <br />
