City of
li

Minnesota, USA
Community Development Department
ph: 651-792-7005 ❖ fax: 651-792-7070
4 May 2006
Dear Bernice Sassen,
Your immediate neighbors (on both sides and the three across the street) will receive a copy of
the letter below notifying them of your plans to add on to your driveway, and inviting them to
participate in the public process of reviewing your proposal. In case you haven't already spoken
with these neighbors about your plans, we encourage applicants to do so. If we receive letters,
phone calls, or emails from all of these households in support of your proposal, the required 10-
day appeal period following the decision of the Development Review Committee (DRC) will be
eliminated; if the DRC approves the setback permit, the building inspector may then issue the
building permit as soon as the building permit application has been approved.
You are cordially invited to attend and participate in the Roseville Development Review
Committee's Setback Permit Hearing on Thursday, May llh, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the
Roseville City Hall Aspen Room — adjacent to the Community Development Department.
Bernice Sassen,1011 Ryan Avenue West, seeks approval of a 3-foot SIDE YARD
SETBACK PERMIT to expand the right (east) side of her driveway to provide a parking space
that won't obstruct access to the garage.
The Setback Permit process allows adjacent property owners the opportunity to comment on the
proposal in writing and/or at the above mentioned meeting. Should you have any comments or
questions about this particular Setback Permit application, we would encourage you to attend the
DRC's Administrative Hearing on Thursday, May l lth, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the Aspen Room.
Please feel free to call me at 651-792-7073 or email me at brvan.11oyd(aci.roseville.mn.us, or
you can reach Thomas Paschke, City Planner, at 651-792-7074 or
thomas.paschke(aci.roseville.mn.us.
Attached for your information is a copy of the Setback Permit application and the proposed
plans. If the DRC decides to approve the request, a building permit can be issued in ten (10)
days unless an appeal is filed by an adjacent property owner.
Best regards,
Ciry of Roseville
Bryan Lloyd
Associate Planner
