Councilmember Kough cited a similar unique situation on Hamline and Woodhill and the favorable <br />outcome and blending accomplished with the neighborhood; further opining that he didn't observe a <br />safety factor. <br />Mayor Klausing spoke in favor of the motion, as per Planning Commission recommendation for approval; <br />opining that the hardship test had been adequately described and met as outlined in the staff report. <br />Mayor Klausing noted that this accomplished a broader public policy consideration for a first-ring suburb <br />that was substantialty developed to provide renewal sources for the City in encouraging smaller and <br />younger family units to remain in the City rather than locating further away. <br />Councilmember Maschka noted that the unique shape of the lot allowed an opportunity to create a <br />smaller home, and anticipated if it would be a marketable lot. Councilmember Maschka opined that the lot <br />was close to minimum lot size, and spoke in support of the motion. <br />Roll Call [8.1] <br />Ayes: Kough; Maschka and Klausing. <br />Nays: Ihlan and Schroeder. <br />[8.2] <br />Kough moved, Klausing seconded, approval of a minor subdivision (a three parcel Minor Subdivision, as <br />per City Code, Section 1 G04.04E, creating one new parcel ("B") wiih a parcel size of i i,608 square ieet; <br />thereby reducing the size of existing Parcel "A" to 15,514 square feet, for property located at 1822 Dale <br />Court; based on findings in Section 5 and subject to conditions of Section 6 of the project report dated <br />August 22, 2005; including an additional condition: that a permit shall be required for any fence, <br />regardless of height; and staff is to review landscape plans at the time of building permit issue. <br />Roll Call [8.2] <br />Ayes: Kough; Maschka and Klausing. <br />Nays: Ihlan and Schroeder. <br />
