Appeal Letter to the City of Roseville September 15,2006 Page 10 unconventionally designed structure that is inconsistent with the neighborhood and which would not be as aestheticallypleasing. It is in the best interests of the City to have the lot improved with a livable, family single structure so that another family can call Roseville home. While the strict letter of the City Code may not allow for a traditionally designed home, it is within the power of the Ciry Cotmcil and in fact specifically peimitted by the Code to allow this variance. The Council could deny this request to � certain that this parcel complies strictly with the City Code. However, to do so is not necessarily consistent with the stated objectives of the Comprehensive Plan, the interests of the City, the interests of the neighborhood or with simple � sense. The Applicants merely desire to sell the lot to a builder or family who will build a relatively modest home having a traditional design (instead of a very unique or whacky triangular shape) which would otherwise be consistent with other homes in the neighborhood. It simply n�alces sense to allow the Applicants' request. Denying the request may be compliant with the strict letter of the Code, but it really does not malce a lot of common sense in the larger scheme of what should be important to the City of Roseville. Thus, for the foregoing reasons the Applicants' request should be approved.
