LOUIS PARK, MINNESOTA <br />St. Louis Park is a community of choice for a lifetime. <br />The City of St. Louis Park is seeking a dynamic, multi-faceted <br />leader to be its next Fire Chief. Chief Luke Stemmer has retired <br />after serving the community for nearly 37 years including 12 <br />years as Chief. <br />St. Louis Park is a vibrant and beautiful first ring suburb of <br />Minneapolis comprised of 10.8 square miles. In a little more <br />than 115 years, the community grew from a village of 45 families <br />to a community of more than 45,000 residents. St. Louis Park <br />has a sound economic base, a healthy mix of new and traditional <br />housing, and a nationally renowned school district - where every <br />school has been named a National School of Excellence. <br />Residential areas comprise the largest portion of the community. <br />These residential areas are diverse in their social, religious, <br />and ethnic heritage - giving every neighborhood a distinct <br />appearance and feel. <br />The community is also home to retail stores, restaurants, medical <br />facilities, family-owned businesses, corporations, and churches <br />and synagogues. <br />St. Louis Park was recently named one of the nation’s “100 Best <br />Communities for Young People” for the sixth consecutive time <br />by America’s Promise Alliance.
