Attachment D
The existing screen porch needs to 6e rep►aced due to age and deterioration. The dimensions
(20X8 feet) were limited by two large trees which had to be cut down. Envelope #1
it's current 8 foot dimension and the existing roof pitc6 do not allow one to stand up straight
at its outer limit and minimal space to move from one end of ihe porch to the other. The roof
pitch also Gmiu the view of the lake from both the porch and house and the light coming into
the house. Envelope #2
1'he log cabin to the left obstructs the view of a large portion of the lake. Envelope #3
M increase from 8 to 12 feet combined with a raised roof line would eteminate these
problems. The additional4 foot expansion would also allow for orienting the view to the right
so that the lake, not the log cabin, would dominate the view.
The expansion will not limit my neighbors' lake views. A deck is planned across the rest of
the house for esthetics and use.
The pictures show the problems I have outlined.
While many of the homes in our area have been demo(ished and replaced by larger buildings,
it has been and will continue to be ow plan to restore and improve our unique st►ucture. The
cosis incurred will be off set by our increased enjoyment and use of the porch.
Thomas R. Martin
361 S. Owasso Blvd.
Roseville, MN 55113
