He said one of the things he does not like about the growing
%1 season is that a satellite has to be provided. NCPC did not mention a plan for bathroom
i 3 facilities. One of the key differences between this location and the North Como plan is
that the NCPC gardens is surrounded by a residential neighborhood.
F My husband and i feel NCPC's community garden will be an eyesore. We also agree
6 with the points that were outlined in the appeal that was recently filed with the city.
177 Sincerely,
 Dot & Jim Ashley
g P.S. We also visited the Battle Creek Community Garden which is located on a Ramsey
o County compost site. In our opinion, it was really ugly!
   Petition Signers
 a2 Thu 5/6/2010 3:26 PM
 From: Larry Leiendecker, J.D.
 4 To: Bryan Lloyd
  Hi, Larry.
aFS We're preparing the brief letter to send to you, the church, and the community members
& identified with your appeal letter. Would you mind sending me the digital version of that table of
names and addresses? Perhaps we don't have to spend the time retyping them since you've
  already done it.
 c Thanks.
19 Bryan Lloyd
2 Re: PetiNon Signers Plus- more for the appeal
 y3 Thu 5/6/2010 4:23 PM
 From: Larry Leiendecker, J.D.
 5 To: Bryan Lloyd
196 cc: Bill Malinen
 Q Dear Bryan:
Glad to help. Attached is the list. Please note that there are a few extra signatures to add. (see
attached PDF) If you could, please add this signature page to the appeal document for the
2oc city council.
2c Also, on another matter, I was doing some thinking about what you and I discussed
202 yesterday. You mentioned the scenario of 75 persons with tweezers grooming the church
2c3 lawn etc. I remember responding that it would probably not be acceptable because it is
20 substantially an outdoor activity etc. I think that I may have gotten too hung up on the
20: potential nuisance aspect of the analogy.
20 On further thought, I think that such an instance happening regularly would be fine (albeit it
20 would likely last all of 5 minutes). My thinking is that grooming and landscaping type
2c activities is something that is anticipated in a residential area or on residential land. So, yes -
2: even if I had friends over for a lawn mowing "experience" (I don't have 75 though) it should
' o be fine so long as it doesn't create a nuisance to my neighbors etc. But, this activity or land
2^ use is much different than cultivating produce far public consumption.
